REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST QUALIFYING, MSc, RP(Q)
SPECIALTIES:
Marital and Premarital, Relationship Issues and Sex Therapy
Hi! I am Veronica. On my first day of class, my Health Psychology professor said that if we were to take anything from her class, it would be this: build and maintain a strong social support circle. This piqued my interest in the concept of relationships.
I believe that relationships are intimately tied to our well-being. Unfortunately, life is full of unexpected challenges that can throw us off course. It’s often difficult to navigate these problems on our own, and we may feel overwhelmed or unsure of how to proceed. I offer a non-judgmental and culturally sensitive space to work together to achieve your goals, better your relationships, and navigate stressors. I like to use a creative approach in combining different therapeutic practices tailored to your needs while also empowering you by using a strengths-based approach.
Whether you are looking for guidance in learning to navigate conflict, move on from infidelity or find a peaceful way to end your relationship, my goal is to help you process your emotions, gain clarity within your situation and build and maintain problem-solving skills.
I have completed my Level 1 and Level 2 in Gottman Couples Method training, issued by the Gottman Institute, and I completed over 36 hours of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training. My most utilized therapy modalities consist of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Couple and Sex Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).
I offer virtual therapy services to adolescents, adults and couples across Ontario.
Nice to meet you!

SPECIALTIES:
Adult, Child & Youth Mental Health, Childhood Trauma, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, Emotion Dysregulation, Self-Harm, Parent/Family support, Intimate Partner & Family Violence
Hello, I'm Brittany. I am a Registered Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work degree. I specialize in both adult and children mental health, complex trauma, and have a strong passion for supporting families affected by Intimate Partner and Family Violence. I work with diverse populations, helping children, adolescents, and families, facing challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, emotional and behavioural challenges, grief, and PTSD. I also offer support for individuals and families navigating relationship issues, parenting, and family dynamics.
Taking the first step toward seeking support can feel scary and daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I strongly believe that therapy is most effective when you connect with the right person —someone who listens, understands, and makes you feel heard, valued, and seen. As a therapist, my role is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we’ll work through these challenges, helping you build the skills and strategies to create positive changes in your life.

If you're ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Varenya Kuhathaas
THERAPIST
SOCIAL WORKER MSW, RSW, RPT
SPECIALTIES:
Child and Youth Mental Health, ADHD, Executive Functioning Skills, Parental Support, Grief and Loss, Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Violence, Attachment-Based Issues
Hi, I’m Varenya! As a Registered Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist, I specialize in working with children and youth who are navigating emotional, behavioral and social challenges. By utilizing play, creative expression and evidence-based approaches, my goal is to help children process their emotions in a way that feels natural to them. Additionally, I am particularly proud of my work with children with ADHD, helping them strengthen their executive functioning skills, such as emotional regulation, organization and impulse control. I also have additional experience in EFIT and EMDR for children, adolescents, and adults.
Paired with this, I have also gained an appreciation and focus on supporting parents navigate the challenges that parenthood may bring. Particularly, as a second-generation Canadian, I understand and have experienced the unique set of scenarios and challenges that come with navigating parenthood while balancing different cultural expectations.
The early years of a child’s life shape their emotional well-being, and every child’s inner world is unique, full of complexities and untold stories. Anxiety, depression, the effects of separation and divorce, and overwhelming fears can all impact a child’s ability to thrive. These challenges may show up in different ways: big emotions, withdrawn behaviors, or struggles at school and home. Recognizing these struggles is the first step toward helping a child feel more secure, confident, and capable. Regardless of the situation, the goal with each child should be to tailor a program to their needs.
In addition to English, I am also able to speak Tamil fluently and offer families the option of communicating in either language.
I offer in-person and walk-and-talk therapy for children and youth in our Markham clinic, as well as virtual therapy across Ontario.
